Settlement Reached in Van Zandt County 18 Wheeler Accident

The Flowers Law Firm is happy to announce the resolution of a long legal battle stemming from an 18 wheeler accident that occurred in Van, Texas. On January 19, 2015, our client was a passenger in a pickup truck traveling east on Interstate 20 toward Dallas. The pickup truck was hauling a trailer used for working. At about 8:45 p.m., an 18-wheeler rammed into the back of the trailer and caused the truck to veer off into the ditch off I20. Police officers investigating the collision found the 18 wheeler driver to be completely at fault.

As a result of wreck, the driver of the pickup truck died leaving behind three children and a widow. Our client, the passenger of the pickup truck, was severely injured and endured months of therapy and rehabilitation. Surgery is required to repair a finger that was severely broken and unusable. Our client also sustained a head injury which has caused him to have frequent headaches, sleeplessness, memory loss, and other common symptoms of traumatic brain injury.

On behalf of our client, the car accident attorney at The Flowers Law Firm filed suit in Van Zandt County seeking payment for our client’s medical bills, surgery, and other damages related to the wreck. After over a year of discovery, depositions, and court filings, the parties participated in a mediation where a settlement was reached between the parties. The terms of the settlement are confidential.

When our clients lose so much due to no fault of their own, it is always rewarding to help stand up for the victim. We were proud to have been asked to help.
